Microsoft’s Cortana assistant is coming to your chats in Skype for Android

Tuesday, October 10th, 2017

In-chat assistance is not a new concept. If you've ever used Google's Allo app, you'll know what it's all about. While in a conversation with a friend, you can call upon the Google Assistant to answer a question, bring up directions, or perform a host of other helpful tasks, all without leaving the conversation. Skype will soon be getting similar functionality, as Microsoft is bringing its Cortana assistant to the messaging app.

Get your app noticed with a Pressitt newsroom

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

There are thousands of Android apps now in the market and it’s getting harder and harder to get your new app noticed. We like to think our site makes a big difference for those apps that make it to the top of our 101 Best Android Apps list.

Pressitt.com

We have another site that might be useful in a different but significant way: http://pressitt.com is an online news release service that allows users to freely submit news releases (SMNRs) in fixed categories about anything they want.

Pressitt helps to bring your news to life with a simple and intuitive SMNR creation process that allows you to add body text, core facts, YouTube videos, images, documents, relevant links, quotes, tags and press contacts to your Social Media News Release.

We’ve just launched a new feature that could make it even better for developer of multiple apps – newsrooms.

With a newsroom you can write about your company, link to your website (if you have one) and your social media profiles on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc. For an Android app developer this could be a central repository for all your apps – link to videos of the app in use, create a Twitter profile to talk about your app or a Flickr page with photos of your app.

Your newsroom can be set up with your logo, company branding and will feature all your news releases – these will also be configured to your newsroom style.

Each newsroom costs just £15 (about $23USD) per month. Check out the newsroom features

By setting up a newsroom on Pressitt you can take advantage of all your social media links and give Android review sites a central place to get news and information about your latest apps – whether it’s videos, images, PDF documents or just quotes from your developers or users.

New Motorola Android devices to rival iPhone

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Motorola isn’t mucking about with their next T-Mobile Android phone according to android and me.

The two new phones codenamed “Morrison” and “Sholes” pack a big punch with some serious spec. The CPU in the Sholes is a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A and they have 256MB RAM. On top of which a built in 512 MB Flash ROM (Read Only Memory) and support up to 32Gb microoSDHC memory card. The display is a HVGA (320×480) and it has lots of extra sensors and regular gadgetry that you’d expect from a modern mobile device.

Take a look at the full specs here: click here for the full spec.

It looks like that kind of power and functionality will not only rival the iPhone, but blow it out of the water!
