  • Motorola publishes its Moto Photo Editor app on the Play Store

Nearly every OEM these days uploads its stock apps onto the Play Store for more seamless updates, but it was Motorola that really started this trend. It makes life easier for the manufacturer and the consumer alike. Moto’s latest addition to the Play Store is its Moto Photo Editor, an app with a pretty self-explanatory name.

Moto Photo Editor has debuted with version 1.4.32.1. It enables you to edit depth-enabled photos with things like selective focus, selective black and white, and background replacement.

  • [Deal Alert] Get a first-gen Samsung Gear 360 for $109.99, the lowest price we’ve seen, on Amazon

Though the first-generation Samsung Gear 360 may no longer be the newest thing on the block (the second-gen model debuted in March), it’s still a decent offering, and it’s really not that old. It becomes even more enticing when you consider its current sale price of $109.99 on Amazon, which is a mere shadow of its original $349.99 MSRP. There have been deals on the Gear 360 before, but this is the lowest price we’ve ever seen.

  • Huawei Mate 9 drops permanently to $499 ($100 off), Honor 6X to $199 ($50 off)

The Huawei Mate 9 and Honor 6X are a pair of very good phones. The prices for both of them have usually been around $599 and $249 respectively, but they have occasionally gone on sale for less. Now it looks like both phones are dropping in price perma…

  • The Moto GamePad Mod is finally here and it’s awesome

Mobile gamers will be a fan of this.

Motorola’s stable of Mods for its Moto Z lineup of phones is constantly growing, and one of the coolest of the lot is the GamePad Mod that adds physical gaming controls to your phone. It was teased back in June with the launch of the Moto Z2 Play, but now we’ve actually used a production model and can tell you what this accessory brings to the (gaming) table.

While it may look a bit bulky at a glance, it’s a totally understandable size once you see everything that’s inside. At the base of it the GamePad has to be slightly thick to be stable while twisting and gripping during gameplay, but also that the control surfaces have something to grab on to. The controls are basic, but exactly what you need: joystick and d-pad on the left, joystick and standard buttons on the right, and a pair of bumpers on the top. There’s also a 1033mAh battery inside to keep your phone topped up while playing.

Support for gamepad controls varies by game, but most …

For the fifth year running, Motorola’s spicing up the summer with a smartphone that’s not afraid to stand out – but this year, the bombastic brand name feels a bit … Forced.

  • Sprint mocks Verizon’s prices with hillarious ‘Twice the Price’ ad campaign

With most commercials in the US, companies compare their products to “the leading brand” or “competing product.” But not so in the telecom industry. Carriers often go after their competitors with satirical ads and CEO rants, calling out each other on …

  • Moto Z2 Force hands-on: I can’t believe it’s not breakable

Motorola’s latest flagship has a shatterproof screen and a crazy-fast processor, but at first glance you can’t really tell.

Perhaps the biggest compliment and criticism one can level at the Moto Z2 Force is that it doesn’t look unbreakable, or even particularly new. From the front, you’d have to squint pretty hard to tell it apart from the $408 Moto Z2 Play released in June, and its resemblance to the flagship Moto Z Force Droid Edition released last year is uncanny.

This is in large part due to the adherence to Motorola’s increasingly busy Mods accessory lineup, which snap on to the back of the phone with a satisfying click that continues to impress even a year later.

But the Moto Z2 Force does have some notable improvements both over its predecessor, which was held to Verizon, and to the Moto Z2 Play, which we lauded with praise earlier this summer.
