Surveillance cameras can get pricey, with higher-end models going for hundreds of dollars a pop. Xiaomi-owned Yi offers a pretty affordable option in its 1080p home security camera. Normally $30.99, it's even cheaper right now with a couple of discounts on Amazon.

The camera records 1080p video (obviously) at 15 frames per second with a 112-degree field of view. It's also got infrared night vision to keep tabs on things in the dark.

Xiaomi president confirms double-folding phone with hands-on video

Folding phones are the future, according to Samsung and Royole. Whether you agree with that or not, they're coming soon, and Xiaomi has officially entered the field of play. In a Weibo post by the Chinese company's president Lin Bin, he has shared a video of him using the flexible device.

Professional leaker Ishan Agarwal drew attention to the video on Twitter, which you can watch below. In it, Bin is shown using what looks like a square-ish tablet, scrolling and tapping away.

Xiaomi leads the smart TV sector in India and hopes to strengthen its position with two new Mi TV Pro models. The 55" Mi LED TV 4X Pro and 43" Mi LED TV 4A Pro are its latest entries to what is an increasingly crowded market. Additionally, the Chinese company also announced it's very first attempt at a soundbar.

The larger (55") of the two new TVs has a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) display while the smaller one (43") can only boast a Full HD (1920 x 1080) panel.

Popular custom ROM maker Paranoid Android came back from the dead in 2017 and has just announced its long-awaited first Android 9 Pie beta builds, with initial availability for a handful of Xiaomi devices. PA is also changing the way it develops its ROM to include Generic System Images (GSI) which should allow support for a greater number of devices.

The first phones to get the Paranoid Android Pie Beta are the Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi 6, Mi 8, Mi Mix 2S, and Poco F1.

TWRP now officially available for the Pocophone F1

The Pocophone's excellent value has made it a prime target for modders, and there are plenty of custom ROMs already available. Unofficial builds of TWRP have been available for months, but now Team Win has officially started supporting the device.

TWRP recovery images for the Pocophone can now be downloaded from the project's official website. The recovery can be installed over USB, but if your device is already rooted, you can use the TWRP app from the Play Store (linked below).
