Capcom’s 3DS title ‘Monster Hunter Stories’ has launched for Android in Japan

Monday, December 4th, 2017

Monster Hunter Stories initially launched in the US for the Nintendo 3DS only a few months ago. It exists as a spin-off of the popular mainline action-based series Monster Hunter. The gameplay is entirely different than what you would expect of a conventional Monster Hunter title, as you will be fighting monsters through turn-based combat instead of in real time. For the most part, Monster Hunter Stories was well received when it launched on the 3DS, and I see no reason why the title wouldn't play just as well on Android.

Return to Asposia in Headup Games’ 2D point and click adventure ‘The Inner World – The Last Wind Monk’

Wednesday, November 29th, 2017

Headup Games had quite a bit of success with the release of their first The Inner World point and click adventure game. So much so that they decided to bring the sequel to consoles before it was released for any mobile platform. But as of last week The Inner World - The Last Wind Monk has finally made its way to Android, and that is very good thing indeed.

Anyone familiar with the first game will be aware of its top-notch hand-drawn artwork that was very beautifully animated.

Neverending Nightmares outruns its inner demons and finally shows up on the Play Store

Tuesday, November 28th, 2017

Neverending Nightmares offers an adult-oriented psychological horror game that contains themes not often seen on our platform. In fact this isn't even an original Android game, as it was actually ported from the PC title that released back in 2014. It did, however, make an appearance on Android in 2015 thanks to the release of the 13th Humble PC & Android Bundle. Ever since then it has only been purchasable for Android on the Humble store for $14.99, although its debut on the Play Store makes it all that much easier to grab thanks to its lower $3.99 price point.

[Hands-on] White Night, a compelling survival horror that uses a minimal color palette as its main mechanic

Wednesday, November 15th, 2017

You will notice right away that White Night uses a black and white color palette that clearly offers a very stylized look. While we have all seen this style used many times before, what can't be gleaned from a quick glance is the fact that this game uses its minimal color choice to its advantage by implementing plenty of mechanics that are dependent on the way light is shone in your immediate environment.

Take an exploratory journey through the heavens with Gemini – A Journey of Two Stars

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2017

X.D. Network is quickly becoming a publisher to notice. Not only did they bring To The Moon to the Play Store, but they also recently released BeatEVO YG, a popular K-pop themed rhythm game. Today we can add Gemini - A Journey of Two Stars to this list of great titles. While it's self-described as an "interactive poem," that apt description hardly does this beautiful game the justice it deserves.

Mana-esque ‘EGGLIA: Legend of the Redcap’ just released globally on the Play Store

Thursday, August 3rd, 2017

One look at EGGLIA: Legend of the Redcap and you are instantly transported back to the 90's where Japanese RPGs reigned supreme. This is no surprise of course as the developers behind EGGLIA: Legend of the Redcap had a hand in creating some of the most memorable RPGs in history such as Kingdom Hearts, Mother 3, and the Mana series.

While this 18 minute gameplay trailer should give you a good idea what to expect out of EGGLIA: Legend of the Redcap, I would like to highlight some of the more interesting bits about this release below.

Behold Studios new sci-fi RPG ‘Galaxy of Pen & Paper’ launches onto the Play Store

Thursday, July 27th, 2017

Behold Studios has just released Galaxy of Pen & Paper onto the Play Store. It costs $4.99, and there are no advertisements or in-app purchases. While many may remember the fiasco that Paradox Interactive created when converting Knights of Pen & Paper 2 to a free-to-play game, I would like to make it clear that Galaxy of Pen & Paper is being handled by the original developers of the series. That is right, Behold Studios is back behind the reins and have adamantly stated that Galaxy of Pen & Paper will stay a premium priced game.

Epic Little War Game is the first new title in the series in three years, and it’s out today

Thursday, June 1st, 2017

Rubicon Development's War Game series has been running for quite some time. Six years ago the original Great Little War Game was released. At the time it was a diamond in the rough, which helped propel it to popularity. One year later, in 2012, Great Big War Game arrived on the Play Store as a follow-up to the success of the original. It took two years after the release of Great Big War Game to finally see a third sequel, Great Little War Game 2, which released in 2014.
