In early September, we spotted Google Maps' new Commute tab — a section that takes over from the Driving and Transit tabs to provide a more robust view of your daily commute to work or school. That change is now rolling out globally on Android and iOS, along with several other updates to make routine travel easier, including in-app controls for three of the most popular music streaming apps — Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play Music.

Google rolled out the Maps traffic layer to 10 more countries

You might take for granted that you can just open Google Maps and see what traffic is like, but that feature sin't available everywhere. There are still numerous countries that don't support live traffic, but today ten more of them do. Google has updated its support docs to call out the newly supported markets, but not all of them will get the same features.

Waze for Android Auto is out of private beta and available today

The private beta for Waze on Android Auto rolled out early last month, and two months of testing seems to have been enough. The feature once promised at I/O 2016 is now here. According to a blog post, today Waze will be available for everyone on Android Auto. Avoiding bad traffic just became that much easier.

You don't have to do anything too crazy to set things up, either.

It's time for another update to Google Maps. Like so many other version bumps, this one includes a couple of great gifts to get users where they want to go. The focus of this release appears to be directed at parking. There are now indicators to show if there is on-site parking and whether it's free or paid. The theme continues into the teardown with a feature that will help drivers plan to find parking near their destination before getting there.

Following on from the launch of our new software and improved site, the traffic here at 101bestandroidapps.com has been growing exponentially!

Over the last month we have had half a million page views!  On the 6th November 2009, we had  32,000 page views and 4,400 visits in just one day.

With lots more improvements and changes we’re planning on making to the site, we’re hoping to become the place to come for all your android information on apps.
