[Deal Alert] Google Home Max down to $349 ($50 off) at Google Store, Best Buy, Target, and more

Sunday, September 23rd, 2018

The Google Home Max was announced last October and went on sale in December, just in time for last year's holiday season. Since then, the pricey smart speaker has mostly kept steady at its $399 launch price, but now a number of retailers are knocking $50 off that number, bringing it down about 12% to $349. Supplies are scarce at some of these places, and this price may not be around for too long.

Target releases Target Connected for Android, an app to control the retailer’s own smart lamps and nightlights

Friday, April 27th, 2018

Apparently Target has its own line of smart lamps, for which the US retailer released an iOS app called Target Connected back in October 2016. Oh, and it tries to sell you stuff from Target.com.

Target Connected can be used to control the retailer's Threshold Ara Smart Lighting Collection, which currently comprises just two items.

Google is looking to turn product searches into purchases from select retailers with Shopping Actions

Wednesday, March 21st, 2018

According to a report from Reuters, Google has been working on monetizing all the product searches that pass through it and almost inevitably go to Amazon by pointing buyers to other places they can purchase the same item. Search results won't be affected, so you'll likely still see Amazon among the top results if you look for something, but the sponsored shopping results will start showing products from its Shopping Actions partners.
