The 10″ Lenovo Smart Display is $150 ($100 off) for Costco members

Monday, January 14th, 2019

We're pretty big fans of smart displays here at Android Police, and Lenovo's in particular is a very nice option. It's probably the best-looking of all available models (if you're down with asymmetry, that is), and Ryne called it the best new kitchen appliance since the dishwasher. Right now, Costco members can pick up the larger of the two models for a hefty $100 off.

This 10-incher provides ample screen space for whatever smart home stuff you might get up to, and is particularly nice for watching videos or flipping through your Google Photos gallery.

Last month, Hue bulbs were updated with the option to use their most recent settings when powering on, rather than coming on at full brightness. Wednesday, January 9th, 2019

Traditional security services firm ADT has previously partnered with Samsung SmartThings on a connected home solution, but at CES 2019 it's going it alone. The Command and Control security system consists of a new tablet-esque hub and app for your phone, distinct from the preexisting ADT Pulse.

The Command Panel has a 7-inch touchscreen and built-in camera that can be used to disarm the system when you arrive home. Dynamic scenes and rules can be created in tandem with your other smart home devices, and voice control integrations work with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

Wednesday, January 9th, 2019

Smart doorbells are hardly novel at this point, with options available from several manufacturers. Many, like those from Google's Nest and Amazon's Ring, require subscription fees to unlock their full feature set. Not so with the new offering from Netatmo, which will do everything it can do right out of the box, no fees required.

The Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell packs a wide-angle 1080p camera that, like other devices of its kind, kicks on when it detects motion or the doorbell button is pressed.
