Friday, August 10th, 2018

If the Note9's steep starting price puts you off, but you want in on the Samsung life, Cricket has a deal that might interest you. The prepaid carrier is offering a Galaxy S9 for $500, but there are some caveats here, so let's address those.

  1. You need to port your number to Cricket (i.e be a new customer)
  2. Online only
  3. AT&T subscribers aren't qualified (since Cricket is an AT&T subsidiary)

Now, if you fit in the group for which all of that applies, you can pick up a fantastic phone for a great price.

Samsung Galaxy S9 edges out Pixel 2 as DxOMark’s top-rated phone camera

Friday, March 2nd, 2018

The Galaxy S9 has predictably stellar cameras, according to DxOMark. Samsung’s newest flagship device scored a 99 overall on DxO’s battery of photo and video quality tests, which is — surprise! — the reviewer's highest ever score for a phone. The S9 is the first phone to receive higher overall marks than the Pixel 2, which netted a 98 last fall.

DxOMark’s scoring system is a little complicated. Scores aren’t out of 100, they just happen to be hovering around that range right now.

As with most high-profile upcoming smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S9 has seen its fair share of leaks as we approach its official unveiling at MWC 2018 in Barcelona.
