Charm your Valentine with the Love AR Playmoji pack for Google Pixel

Thursday, February 14th, 2019

Google Playground's stickers and Playmojis are pretty fun, and the timely Childish Gambino drop likely brought more attention to the Pixel's AR features. It makes sense, then, that Valentine's Day arrives with another new pack, predictably all pink and heart-shaped.

The Love Playmoji pack is now available for all three generations of the Google Pixel, including adorable characters such as smitten champagne glasses with little bow ties, smiling interactive hearts, and a healthy dose of cheesy love notes.

Google appears to have fixed the ‘check for update’ button on Pixels again

Monday, January 7th, 2019

In what is likely to be the biggest low-key Android news today, Google seems to have silently flipped the switch (again) when it comes to the "check for update" button on Pixels. On every Pixel device we've tested here at Android Police, tapping the button in the Settings app is successfully pulling down the recent January update.

For a bit of perspective, OTA rollouts are usually pushed out to a smaller group before everyone else, to better ensure that a serious, undetected problem with a given update only affects a few people before it's caught.

The latest pair of Google flagships haven't been without their controversies — it's effectively a yearly ritual as the tech enthusiast community picks apart a new Pixel phone's faults— but subsequent updates typically resolve the vast majority of these issues. Pixel Sounds updated to v2.0, and it actually works now [APK Download]

Wednesday, December 12th, 2018

Google laid the groundwork for a new app earlier this month, and now you can (maybe) use it. Pixel devices will soon have a more expansive set of ringtones with a much prettier interface. The app didn't work when it first popped up, but v2.0 does, and it's rolling out now.
