The Sandstone White OnePlus 5T has sold out in 8 days

Wednesday, January 17th, 2018

If you were still on the fence about buying the Sandstone White OnePlus 5T, then I've got some bad news for you. The limited edition phone went on sale on January 9th, and now, just 8 days later, it is completely sold out in North America. In fact, it looks like the phone is sold out everywhere except for OnePlus's home country of China.

The Sandstone White OnePlus 5T is functionally identical to the regular midnight black model and looks a lot like the Star Wars Edition (sans Star Wars branding) that went on sale in India last month, but if you really want a limited edition of the OnePlus 5T and can't afford to catch a plane to China, you can still consider purchasing the Lava Red model that will go on sale in India on January 20th.

Up today we have the OnePlus 3 and 3T, which are getting bumped to the Open Beta 30 and 21, respectively, with the same changelog for both.

OnePlus is investigating customer reports of credit card fraud after buying from the company’s website

Monday, January 15th, 2018

Checking your credit card statement after wondering why your balance is so high and finding transactions that you don't recognize is among life's most uncomfortable moments. Many of us have been there, and even though you know there's a good chance you'll get the money back, that feeling of violation is hard to shake. Unfortunately, some recent OnePlus customers are going through exactly that at this moment in time.

A poll was posted on the OnePlus forum on Thursday asking users if they had noticed fraudulent charges on the credit cards since purchasing items on the OnePlus site.

An intrepid user on the OnePlus forums, v1nc, noticed a suspicious new system app "com.oneplus.clipboard" attempting to access the network after upgrading to a beta release of Oreo with the December 1st security update. Suspiciously, the IP address led to a block owned by Chinese conglomerate Alibaba.
