Fitbit announces Versa smartwatch and Ace kids wristband, adds female health tracking to the Fitbit app

Fitbit announced two brand-new products today, plus a much-requestion additional feature for the Fitbit app. The Fitbit Versa is the company's new flagship smartwatch, something of a replacement for the Ionic. The Ace wristband for kids is essentially a Fitbit Alta for children aged 8+. For the first time, with an update due in May 2018, the Fitbit app will offer female health features such as period tracking.

Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact hands-on: Sony takes a [small] step in the right direction

Today at MWC 2018 in Barcelona Sony announced its latest flagship Android phones, the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact. Looking at them without context, you'd be forgiven for thinking they were released a couple of years ago. Yet these are Sony's most modern smartphone designs ever, with curved 3D glass and much smaller bezels than previous Xperia devices.

The larger XZ2 undeniably feels very nice in the hand. Its glass back makes the phone plenty grippy, and the aluminum sides are curved just enough to look good without causing it to slip out of your hand too easily.

Xiaomi announces the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro for India

Chinese OEM Xiaomi today announced two new mid-range devices for the Indian market. The Redmi Note 5 is essentially a rebranded Redmi 5 Plus, launched at the end of last year, and the Pro variant has the same 5.99" display but adds a dual camera module, a slightly more powerful processor, and a 6GB RAM option.
