SanDisk A2 and 400GB microSD roundup review: Buy for storage, not apps

Wednesday, February 13th, 2019

There are plenty of reasons to pick up a microSD card, should your phone support one. It can be a lot cheaper to get a phone with less storage and plan to add more. Media maniacs and data hoarders can also make use of the super cheap extra space. But if you think SanDisk's new A1 and A2-rated microSD cards are going to provide anywhere near the experience of your phone's built-in storage, think again.

PNY’s Elite 512GB microSD card is down to $150 ($200 off), the lowest price ever

Saturday, February 9th, 2019

If you have a smartphone or tablet with a microSD slot and have been itching for a deal on a 512GB card, this could be the day you finally pull the trigger. The PNY Elite 512GB microSD card, which was introduced in June at $349.99, is down to an all-time low price of $149.99 (that's $200 off) on Amazon today only. This beats the pants off of the $239.99 deal we saw back in December.

PNY 2019 lineup includes updated 512GB MicroSD card and a new USB-C flash drive

Friday, January 4th, 2019

In the summer of 2018, PNY became only the second company to release a 512GB MicroSD card (and the first to go on sale in the US). The company is back with an updated model, as well as several flash drives including a USB Type-C option.

The new PNY range is headlined by the upgraded Pro Elite 512GB MicroSD card, which offers a minor spec improvement over its predecessor with a U3 bus speed instead of U1, meaning a guaranteed minimum write speed of 30MB/s (and up to 90MB/s).

PNY’s 512GB microSD card is down to $240 ($110 off) on Amazon for today only

Saturday, December 29th, 2018

For most people, the 64GB or so of storage that comes standard on higher-end phones these days is more than enough. However, for the select few that require tremendous amounts of local storage, microSD support is a godsend. Earlier this year, PNY introduced a 512GB microSD card, pricing it at a princely $349.99. That price has been slashed to $239.99, $110 off, for today only on Amazon.

Using this PNY Elite 512GB with the right phone, like a 512GB Galaxy Note9, could result in a full terabyte of local storage on one phone.

Thursday, November 22nd, 2018

We get it: With microSD card prices dropping all the time, it can be tricky to get excited about all-time low prices. After all, chances are they're just going to be even lower tomorrow. We're leaning much more in the latter direction for this new batch of SanDisk microSD sales at Amazon, the highlight of which is a 400GB card for just under $80.
