Google's effort to slightly update the look of its apps to match the latest Material Design guidelines (MD 2.0, if you will) continues apace. Crowdsource is the company's clever way of gamifying data collection for use in its many products, and it now features Google Sans and uses a lot more white (quelle surprise).

So it's no different to any other Material makeover, then. Google's custom typeface is spreading like wildfire, but that's no bad thing since it looks pretty nice.

Google Account on the web gets new Material Design makeover

Slowly but surely, all of Google's products are being updated to the latest evolution of its Material Design theme. The whiter, more rounded look came to the Google Account settings on Android back in the summer, and now it's now arrived at myaccount.google.com on the web.

As we've seen with Google's other properties, the left sidebar now has a rounded pastel-shaded highlight to denote where you are, all of the cards have nice rounded corners, and the Google Sans typeface is increasingly prominent.

Google Drive for Android is about to get a Material Design refresh

Google is continuing to slowly update all of its apps to a refreshed Material Design style (MD 2.0, to some) and the latest product to get this treatment is Google Drive on Android — the web version has already been updated. It's not actually live yet, but the code is there ready to go, so we can expect it to roll out to users soon.

The screenshots come courtesy of XDA Developers in collaboration with Kieron Quinn, and there aren't too many surprises in view of Google's other recent redesigns.
