Chromebook enthusiasts have been waiting with bated breath at the prospect posed by Nocturne and Atlas, the hardware platform names of two potential upcoming first-party Chrome OS devices by Google. Based on a couple of images found by the About Chromebooks, we might just have our first glimpse of Nocturne, expected to be Google's first Chromebook tablet.

Nocture will probably debut together with Atlas at Google's upcoming fall event, and as Google's first Chromebook tablet, it has quite a few people excited.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Pie update offers evidence of 5G support in Galaxy S10

Wednesday, September 19th, 2018

Samsung hasn't actually rolled out any Pie updates, but some details have leaked out. That early peek at Pie also comes with a hint of our 5G future, according to our friends at XDA. The software contains a few configuration files for different Galaxy S10 models, and some of them appear to have 5G support.

The devices listed are Beyond0, Beyond1, and Beyond2—Beyond is, of course, the GS10's code name.

ZTE put a screen on the back of the Nubia Z18S, because why the hell not

Wednesday, September 19th, 2018

Just last year, ZTE came out with the Axon M, a phone with two screens that merged to form one giant nearly-square display when it was unfolded. It looks like one awkward dual-screen phone wasn't enough for the company, judging from leaked photos (and video) of the ZTE Nubia Z18S.

Whereas the Axon M aped the Kyocera Echo's foldable concept, the Nubia Z18S follows the standard candybar form factor that every other phone does - just with another screen on the back.

Tuesday, September 18th, 2018

Google announced Assistant would work on displays a while back, but so far only third-parties have launched hardware. A new leak suggests Google is aiming to launch its own Assistant smart display called the Home Hub. Some leaked renders purport to show a device that looks like the offspring of a Chromebook and a Google Home speaker.

MySmartPrice claims to have renders of the hardware as well as screens of the official product specifications.

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL leak side-by-side in press renders

Tuesday, September 18th, 2018

The barrage of Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL leaks stopped for a week or two there, but we've got some more photos of Google's upcoming phones. This time around, both are pictured next to each other in some pretty official-looking press renders, dressed in Google's very nice fabric cases.

This is the first time we're seeing photos of press renders instead of the actual devices. That said, there are still some interesting things to be gleaned from these pictures.

Huawei is reviving smartphone leather backs with stitching

Friday, September 14th, 2018

One day bootleg pants are all the rage, the next it's considered a faux-pas to wear one and everyone moves to skinny leg pants. A couple of years later, bootleg pants are back in style and you feel like you understand nothing about nothing because you just threw yours in the trash. Just like clothing fashion, smartphone design goes through cycles. A few years ago, the Note 3 started the trend of using faux-leather with stitching on the back and so followed the Note 3 Neo, Note 4, and Note Edge.

Pixel 3 teaser might indicate a third mint aqua color

Friday, September 14th, 2018

The third-generation Google Pixel leaks continue. At this point, the company doesn't seem to have anything hidden from us — unless you believe the wild conspiracy theories about a mystical notch-less Ultra Pixel. Even Google seems to have given up on hiding things and, in a teaser for the new Pixels on its Japanese site, has revealed a potentially third aqua/mint color.

The site first shows off a white smartphone with the signature Pixel dual-tone back in white and a mint/aqua accent.

Upcoming Google Pixelbook devices allegedly shown off in 3 new leaks

Monday, September 10th, 2018

At this point, we're pretty sure that Google is going to release not one, but two new Chrome OS devices at its NYC hardware event on October 9. There have been persistent rumors about an updated Pixelbook with smaller bezels, but there's convincing evidence to suggest we will also see a tablet with a detachable keyboard (please call it Pixelet). We might now have our first look at the new models, codenamed 'Nocturne' and 'Atlas.'.

Alleged OnePlus 6T box leaks in photos, showing off in-display fingerprint sensor and ‘waterdrop’ notch

Tuesday, September 4th, 2018

For the past few generations, OnePlus's phones have been heavily based on those from sister company OPPO. The OnePlus 6 was based on the OPPO R15, the OP5T was inspired by the R11s, and so on. OPPO's R17 debuted last month with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 'waterdrop' notch, and — surprise! — the alleged box for the OnePlus 6T showcases those same features.

Images of this box were posted on Weibo, and from what we can tell, it looks pretty legitimate.
