Samsung’s cancelled ‘Project V’ foldable phone from years ago shows up in leaked photos

Sunday, June 17th, 2018

Recently, ZTE's foldable Axon M made a bit of a wave by being released with not one, but two 5.2" 1080p displays. It was a bold move, but it obviously hasn't sold well. It looks like Samsung experimented with the same idea back in 2015-2016, ultimately choosing to scrap the project. But some leaked images of it, dubbed "Project V," have recently surfaced, showing what could have been.

The phone's model number is SM-G929F.

Those of you who follow Samsung closely may have noticed that devices running Android or Android-based OSes (e.g. Galaxy S9, Galaxy J7, Galaxy Gear) all have the "Galaxy" in their name for the most part, whereas those that run Tizen/other software (e.g.

BlackBerry's KEYone successor, the KEY2, is set to be announced in a few days on June 7th. But it turns out that we won't have to wait to get a good look at the KEY2, as serial leaker Evan Blass has just published some press images revealing every angle of the phone.

As we already knew from an official teaser, the KEY2 has a dual camera setup and a special keyboard button, both of which are visible in these shots.

LG V35 shows up on the Wireless Power Consortium site

Friday, May 25th, 2018

LG's mobile team has been making some... questionable decisions lately. It all began to go downhill when the V30S ThinQ debuted as nothing but a V30 with more RAM and some AI camera features. The company then threw the ThinQ branding on the V30 (and even the Canadian G6, though that seems to have been reversed). Now, because one minor revision of the V30 wasn't enough, the upcoming LG V35 (which will presumably carry ThinQ branding) has shown up on the Wireless Power Consortium's site.

Samsung may be using Wear OS for its upcoming smartwatches instead of Tizen

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018

Those of you who follow Samsung closely may have noticed that devices running Android or Android-based OSes (e.g. Galaxy S9, Galaxy J7, Galaxy Gear) all have the "Galaxy" in their name for the most part, whereas those that run Tizen/other software (e.g. Gear Fit, Gear S3, Z4) don't. You can imagine our confusion, then, when it was revealed that Samsung filed trademark applications for the names "Galaxy Watch" and "Galaxy Fit." But with famed leaker Evan Blass's latest tweet, it seems like Samsung may actually be releasing a pair of Wear OS smartwatches.

HTC accidentally leaks the pricey U12+ not once, but twice

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018

HTC's next flagship, the U12+, has cropped up a few times over the past few months. The phone was shown at a 5G industry event, and just a few days ago, images and specifications were leaked by Evan Blass on Twitter. It seems HTC is one leaky ship, as the company itself is responsible for the latest set of leaks. Congratulations HTC, you played yourself.

Roland Quandt from WinFuture discovered that an HTC subdomain had a product page for the Chinese U12+, which has since been pulled.

HTC U12+ leaked with Snapdragon 845 and ‘Edge Sense 2’

Thursday, May 17th, 2018

It has been exactly one year and a day since the HTC U11 was unveiled, marking the beginning of the company's 'Liquid Metal' design language. Plenty has happened since then; Google purchased a large chunk of HTC's hardware team, and both the U11 Life and U11+ have been released.

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are now available worldwide, but it looks like Samsung isn't done with the S8 lineup just yet. The company already makes a number of budget phones, like its popular A8 and A8+ . Samsung appears to be working on another mid-range device, using the shell of last year's flagship.

The 'Galaxy S8 Lite' will use the same shell as the S8, and a few press renders have already leaked.
