Google One subscribers getting offers for $125 or $200 off the Pixel 3 and 3 XL

When Google announced the revamped Google One subscription, it said there would be special perks and deals for members. It didn't offer much in the way of examples at the time, but it's starting to take shape with a new promo. If you've got a Google One subscription, check your email. You may well have an offer for up to $200 off the Pixel 3/3 XL.

The email entitles the recipient to either $125 or $200 off the new Pixels, but it's not clear what determines your discount.

Local Guides — the name for prolific contributors to Google Maps — get occasional perks from big G after all the photos and reviews they submit. The latest benefit is a three-month membership to Google One, which includes 100 GB of storage (in addition to the other membership perks like occasional credits, discounts, and extra support). The only catch seems to be that not everyone is getting this offer, and it can't always be redeemed.

Google One's benefits extend beyond storage space and customer service. Subscribers can save 20 percent on their next order from Google Express, up to $20. "Some qualified users" are eligible for an even larger discount of 25 percent, up to $25; Google doesn't explain what makes a qualified user, however.

Qualified users will be notified of the promotion either by an email, a notification in the Google One app, or on Google Express.

The last several months have been busy for T-Mobile. There are the ongoing merger machinations with Sprint, a new customer support model, and some 5G announcements thrown in for good measure, too. But the carrier has more up its magenta sleeves: it announced today that sub-brand MetroPCS is becoming Metro by T-Mobile, and gaining some new plans. The refreshed plan offerings include unlimited data and, at the $60 tier, Google One and Amazon Prime.

There is a price option to suit anyone's needs, whether that be some extra space to store pictures or a couple terabytes to keep everything backed up.

This doesn't replace Drive, mind you, it's just the new name for the various price tiers associated with Google's products, as we noted in the original announcement post.
