Google Keep Notes now tints the navigation bar to match note colors [APK Download]

Friday, November 9th, 2018

If you're a stickler for details, have we got a treat for you: the latest update to Google Keep Notes (née Google Keep) colors the navigation bar to match the note you're currently viewing.

While it isn't quite as big a deal as, say, a full redesign, the effect is pleasing: your entire screen, from top to bottom, is now a uniform color when reading or editing a note.

Google Assistant’s shopping lists should soon work again with Google Keep

Monday, October 22nd, 2018

It's been a few months since I shared my list of 10 things I wished Google Home would do, and in the time since, three of these have come true and two were sort of working already and have been improved. One more item could soon become a reality, and it's the one we've all been asking for in the past months: Google Keep integration with Assistant.

Replying to a commenter on Reddit, Googler al3d confirmed that Assistant's shopping lists will be coming back to Keep for those who prefer to use the service.

Google app v8.33 beta gets closer to opening up notes and lists, prepares personalized news and home screen settings, and more [APK Teardown]

Saturday, October 20th, 2018

The latest Google app update is rolling out to the beta channel, but as usual, you're probably not going to see much in the way of changes after installing it. The version number lept from 8.27 to 8.33, which looks odd, but I assure you, it makes total sense if you think about it. Today we'll be talking about a new page for home screen settings, more about linking services to notes and lists, personalized news settings, and more.

Keep Notes is the latest app to get Google’s new Material Design [APK Download]

Wednesday, October 17th, 2018

Google's been on a rampage updating apps to fit its new "Google Material Theme" or "Material Design 2" or whatever you prefer to call it — I've been known to say "Monochrome Menace," myself. Keep Notes (née Google Keep) is the latest app to get the new look, and it's pretty snazzy. Better, if you're too impatient to wait for the update to land, you can download it early over at our sister site, APK Mirror.

Update Notes for Photos, Play Store, Keep Notes, and more (October 8th, 2018)

Monday, October 8th, 2018

Every week, I examine somewhere in the neighborhood of a hundred app updates while looking for changes. The most interesting things turn into APK Teardowns or Download posts. Many of the remaining updates are unremarkable, amounting to a few bug fixes, routine updates to libraries, or even just pixel-level adjustments to layouts and images. However, there are usually a few updates that land somewhere in between. I don't want to spam readers with dozens of short posts, but I hate to ignore things that people might want to know about, so I'm going to wrap up the leftovers for a little weekend reading and call it Update Notes.

Google app v8.24 beta gets closer to allowing services to manage your notes and lists, moves more settings to a General screen, and more [APK Teardown]

Friday, October 5th, 2018

An update to the Google app is rolling out a bit earlier than usual for the week. Besides small tweaks, there's not much to see, but a teardown is turning up some interesting additions to the APK. Google has resumed work on allowing services to stand in for Notes and Lists functionality with Assistant. There are also a few more settings making the jump to a central 'General' screen.

What's New

As always, there are minor tweaks and changes that really don't need to be enumerated here.

Google Assistant (Express) shopping list adopts a new interface with images and better swipe actions

Saturday, June 9th, 2018

Google Assistant's shopping list is probably one of the most loathed features of the service. Google didn't do it any favors when it forced users to adopt the new web-based Express interface instead of having the list in Keep, and the hatred has kept spewing since then. I'm sure some of you like it, some are indifferent to it, others use it because they have to, and others wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole.

Google Keep now lets you indent items in lists

Friday, June 8th, 2018

For the better part of two years, Google Keep has been my main list and note app. I use it constantly with my husband to keep track of our grocery shopping and things that need to be done around the house, and I also list some of my gym routines on it plus countless other things. The issue, however, is that lists were a single-indent affair until now, making it very tedious to organize sub-items.
