What's this? An app sales roundup on a Saturday? Say it isn't so! All joking aside, yes, I missed yesterday's regularly-scheduled list due to... well, I forgot, okay? Anyway, to make up for it, I took some time on a Saturday morning to get this out for you all. It's quite a selection, too, with some notable items in bold. Telltale Games is reportedly closing down and cancelling most current projects

Friday, September 21st, 2018

Telltale Games has won critical praise for titles like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, but that was not enough to keep the lights on. A flood of now-former employees report that Telltale is closing its doors in the near future after laying off most workers. Telltale has not officially confirmed any changes as of yet, but this looks like the end.

According to Gamasutra, Telltale has canceled all current projects save for one: The Walking Dead Season 4.

[Update: It’s back] Life is Strange: Before the Storm is out on Android

Friday, September 21st, 2018

Square Enix's original Life is Strange graphic adventure game only recently launched on Android this past July. It was apparent the delayed release (the iOS version came out seven months prior) was in preparation for the upcoming prequel.

Frogmind’s ‘Badland Brawl’ is up for pre-registration

Thursday, September 20th, 2018

Some of you may remember a quirky little auto-runner from 2013 called Badland. It's been downloaded over 50 million times across the world, which is probably why a sequel was released in 2015. Apparently, the developer Frogmind has pushed aside the auto-running genre since that followup and has moved on to bigger and better things. The result is the upcoming release of Badland Brawl, a physics-based multiplayer brawler that's available for pre-registration as of today, and it looks nothing like the original games in the series, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Streets of Rage 2 Classic is the latest SEGA Forever title on the Play Store

Thursday, September 20th, 2018

The SEGA Forever program may have had it's release schedule slowed down earlier this year, but that doesn't mean there aren't a few classics left in Sega's library that are slated to come to Android. Last month we received a re-release of Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode II, and today the classic beat 'em up Streets of Rage 2 is on the menu. This is the first time an official release of Streets of Rage 2 has landed on our digital shelves, and you can play it for free right now as long as you don't mind a bunch of annoying advertisements.

Fliptop Solitaire by Zach Gage has finally made its way to Android

Thursday, September 20th, 2018

Zach Gage is the developer that came up with SpellTower (one of my favorite word games that for some reason is missing from the Play Store), Ridiculous Fishing, and Really Bad Chess. These are all popular titles that show this dev has a very consistent track record. His newest game Flipflop Solitaire may have released on iOS last November, but it only just landed on Android. It combines a few different versions of solitaire into an all-new unrestrictive single-player card game, and you better believe it has a few tricks up its sleeve.
