Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ pass through FCC, confirming some minor details about the duo

Saturday, January 13th, 2018

Hot on the heels of last night's Galaxy S9 box leak, the S9/S9+ duo has passed through the US's FCC. Unfortunately, since these major companies know how impatient and clever us tech nerds can be, most of the information necessary to make it through the FCC has been obscured from the eyes of the common folk. There's still some information to be gleaned here, though.

First off, the US models of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are internally designated as SM-G960U and SM-G965U, respectively.

Friday, January 12th, 2018

With Samsung slated to unveil the Galaxy S9-series of phones next month, it's actually a bit surprising how few leaks there have been. That might be about to change, though, with a photo of an alleged retail box for the Galaxy S9 having been posted on reddit. Thursday, January 4th, 2018

The Exynos 9 Series processors were introduced by Samsung almost a year ago, and we've seen them used in the company's flagship phones of 2017. With the announcement of the Galaxy S9 nearing, it's time we learned a little about the chip that will be running the show (outside of the US and China, which will get Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 845 processor), so Samsung has lifted the covers off the Exynos 9810 SoC.

Introduced with the Galaxy S8 and S8+, users who forked over another $150 could purchase the DeX Station, which allowed them to dock their device, pair it with a monitor, mouse, and keyboard, and use their phones like desktop PCs.

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ really don't seem that old, but the duo's about four months away from replacement. But according to VentureBeat's Evan Blass, the S9 and S9+ will be shown off at CES 2018 in January, which is only about two months away.
