Logitech now promises to replace all Harmony Link devices with free Harmony Hub

Thursday, November 9th, 2017

Logitech took a lot of heat over its recent decision to brick all Harmony Link smart remote systems, and it's apparently taking those criticisms to heart. In a new blog post, the company explains how it's going to try and make everything right. Not only does it explain the (somewhat flimsy) reasoning behind killing the Harmony Link, it pledges to replace all affected devices free of charge.

In case you missed the first chapter in this saga, Harmony Link was released in 2011 as a way to turn smartphones and tablets into remote controls. Logitech informed owners of the Link in recent days that it was shutting down the service, which meant the devices would stop working.

Start the week with 27 temporarily free and 25 on-sale apps

Monday, November 6th, 2017

Hello, everyone, and welcome back to the thrice-weekly app sales roundups. I took some time off from doing these to give myself a break, seeing as I was rapidly approaching serious burnout. Thank you to all of you who let me know how much you appreciate these and that you missed them — I'm sorry that you've been left in the dark for two weeks. All of that being said, we have quite the shoddy list to welcome us all back, and yet we trudge onward.

Google is pushing back some white Pixel 2 orders, offering a free Live Case as compensation

Monday, October 23rd, 2017

Shipping delays on Pixel phones are nothing new. It took months for Google to get out from under the backlog for the original Pixel. This time, the white models seem to be in particularly short supply. Several people who ordered the smaller Pixel 2 in white are getting notices from Google that their orders have been pushed back by a month, but they are getting a small token of apology from Google.

Google confirms original-quality photo uploads from the 2016 Pixels are grandfathered for life

Friday, October 13th, 2017

Ever since Google went out of its way to put a (very short) expiration date on unlimited photo uploads for the new Pixel 2s, there's been some concern about the original 2016 Pixels, as they never had a limit placed on them. We reached out to a Google representative for some clarification and were told that nothing has changed when it comes to the original Pixels. Both the 2016 Pixel and 2016 Pixel XL will continue to receive free unlimited original-quality storage for photos and videos with no time limitations.

Games are great. Cheap games are even better. But free games are the best of them all. We're now giving away ten codes for the latest Humble Mobile Bundle: the Made in Korea pack, which features seven games from developers based out of South (not North, for obvious reasons) Korea.

Regularly, you'd have to pay $1 to get the old school LCD-style shooter I.F.O and the stealth action game the SilverBullet.
