Friday, February 8th, 2019

Just a few days after Google's "Dump your valentine" discount, Amazon has come up with its own deals, in time for February 14. These offers are more relevant, though, and are worth considering if you're short of gift ideas. Most of the giant's connected home devices are on sale, including Echo speakers and smart displays, Fire TVs, cameras, and even Kindles.

Amazon's speakers have been marked down several times in the last few weeks, including deals on the Echo Plus and Echo Input, but the retailer is going stronger now to rival Google's bundles.

Amazon Cloud Cam gets web streaming, additional Alexa functionality, and more

Tuesday, March 13th, 2018

Amazon's Cloud Cam offers a compelling price tag for anyone looking to pick up a security camera on the cheap, but it's lacking in features compared to many of the more established players. Amazon is closing the gap somewhat with a web interface, more voice commands, and integration with Amazon's other hardware.

Amazon Cloud Cam review: A good value, but missing some features

Thursday, February 1st, 2018

Amazon offers various cloud services to consumers as well as businesses. In fact, some makers of home security cameras use Amazon's web services to store video. It only makes sense for Amazon to get into this market as it increasingly pushes home automation with Alexa. The Cloud Cam is a 1080p indoor security camera with a competitive price point of $120 when it's not on sale. This camera has a lot going for it, but it's clear Amazon is still just getting started with home security—the Cloud Cam is missing just enough that other cameras might be better options, even if they're more expensive.
