[Deal Alert] Bose SoundLink around-ear wireless headphones II down to $199 ($80 off) at multiple retailers

Friday, November 17th, 2017

If $349,99 for the Bose QuietComfort 35 II is too rich for your blood, the company has another Bluetooth headphones solution for you: the (very poorly named) SoundLink around-ear wireless headphones II. These usually retail for $279.99, but have been discounted to just $199 at a ton of stores.

The AE2 SoundLink (no, I'm not writing out 'SoundLink around-ear wireless headphones II' every time) features everything you'd expect a pair of Bose Bluetooth headphones to have: good sound, a comfortable fit, and an understated design.

[Deal Alert] Bose QC25 noise-canceling headphones are down to $179 ($100 off) at several retailers

Thursday, November 9th, 2017

Bose's beloved QuietComfort 35 may already have a successor, the QuietComfort 35 II, but the company has still been selling the wired QC25 for quite some time. At $279, it appeals to a slightly different market than the $349 QC35 (II). But for the impending Black Friday deals, the company has dropped prices by $100 to just $179 at quite a few retailers.

The QC25s are a great set of headphones all around.

JBL Everest Elite 750NC review: A very compelling set of noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones

Friday, October 27th, 2017

Noise cancelling headphones rank high on my list of essential items to bring on a flight. By dampening the sounds of crying kids, chatty passengers, and the dull throbbing roar of the jet engines, NC headphones can transform a miserable travel experience into a tolerable one.

The headphones pictured above are the JBL Everest Elite 750NC, and I'm pretty impressed with them. With an MSRP of $299 and a current street price of $229 they aren't cheap, but they deliver in the critical areas of noise cancellation, comfort, and sound quality, which helps to justify their lofty price.

Bose launches pricey SoundSport Free wireless earbuds, plus a ridiculous neck speaker

Friday, September 22nd, 2017

The headline announcement from Bose yesterday may have been the Google Assistant-toting QuietComfort 35 II headphones, but it wasn't the only new product the company has to shout about. There's also the completely wireless SoundSport Free earbuds, which are being touted as a worthy Apple AirPods competitor. And just for a bit of a laugh (unfortunately they're actually serious), Bose is also releasing the preposterous SoundWear Companion Speaker, a "neck speaker" to you and me.

Thursday, September 21st, 2017

It's been known for some time that Google was planning to release its own Google Assistant headphones (Bisto), and we also knew that third parties would be releasing headphones with similar functionality. Thanks to a couple of leaks, we knew that Bose would be launching the QuietComfort 35 II with the Assistant built-in, and today that news has been officially announced by both Google and Bose.

Bose’s QuietComfort 35 II with Google Assistant spotted at Best Buy

Sunday, September 17th, 2017

We've known for a while that at least one pair of headphones with Google Assistant was in development, under the 'Bisto' codename. Two days ago, Bose's QuietComfort 35 II with Google Assistant built-in was leaked. Now, at least one person has discovered a pair at a local Best Buy.

Best Buy has a reputation for selling devices early, but this time at least, the store didn't allow anyone to buy the headphones.

[Update: Video leaked] Bose’s forthcoming QuietComfort 35 II will be part of the “Bisto” family, support Google Assistant

Thursday, September 14th, 2017

Bose's QuietComfort 35 have been a huge hit in spite of its $349 MSRP. The headphones are comfortable, put out good sound, and the noise cancellation works very well. There's really no need for an imminent successor, but that's not how the tech industry works.

V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless review: Improved in every way except price

Monday, July 17th, 2017

Since my introduction to the brand a couple of years ago, V-Moda has quickly become one of my favorite audio companies. Solid sound and performance, paired with impeccable build quality and distinctive styling make the company's products easy to like and recommend. I thoroughly enjoyed the Crossfade wireless headphones when I reviewed them a year ago, and though I had a few small issues with the headphones, I was impressed overall.
