Thursday, September 21st, 2017

It's been known for some time that Google was planning to release its own Google Assistant headphones (Bisto), and we also knew that third parties would be releasing headphones with similar functionality. Thanks to a couple of leaks, we knew that Bose would be launching the QuietComfort 35 II with the Assistant built-in, and today that news has been officially announced by both Google and Bose.

Bose’s QuietComfort 35 II with Google Assistant spotted at Best Buy

Sunday, September 17th, 2017

We've known for a while that at least one pair of headphones with Google Assistant was in development, under the 'Bisto' codename. Two days ago, Bose's QuietComfort 35 II with Google Assistant built-in was leaked. Now, at least one person has discovered a pair at a local Best Buy.

Best Buy has a reputation for selling devices early, but this time at least, the store didn't allow anyone to buy the headphones.

[Update: Video leaked] Bose’s forthcoming QuietComfort 35 II will be part of the “Bisto” family, support Google Assistant

Thursday, September 14th, 2017

Bose's QuietComfort 35 have been a huge hit in spite of its $349 MSRP. The headphones are comfortable, put out good sound, and the noise cancellation works very well. There's really no need for an imminent successor, but that's not how the tech industry works.

V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless review: Improved in every way except price

Monday, July 17th, 2017

Since my introduction to the brand a couple of years ago, V-Moda has quickly become one of my favorite audio companies. Solid sound and performance, paired with impeccable build quality and distinctive styling make the company's products easy to like and recommend. I thoroughly enjoyed the Crossfade wireless headphones when I reviewed them a year ago, and though I had a few small issues with the headphones, I was impressed overall.

[Deal Alert] Grab a pair of factory-renewed Bose Quiet Comfort 35 for $260 ($90 off retail)

Thursday, July 13th, 2017

I've tested many over-ear headphones over the past couple of years and I can easily say that the Bose QuietComfort 35 are my favorite. I often recommend the value-for-money proposition of the Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2, but when I go to pick up one of these two to use while working or traveling, I always go for the Bose. They're better at blocking noise, lighter, more travel-friendly, and more comfortable to wear over long periods of time.

[Deal Alert] Please your ears with a Bose SoundLink Mini II for $129 ($70 off)

Wednesday, July 12th, 2017

I make no attempts to hide the fact that I do not particularly like Bluetooth speakers in general. There are a few exceptions, one of them being the subject of this Deal Alert. The Bose SoundLink Mini II is available on Amazon for $129, which means that you can save $70 off of the MSRP.

The SoundLink Mini II may look small, but it can put out a lot of decent sound.

[Deal Alert] Bose QuietComfort 25 down 25% to $225 on Amazon and eBay

Thursday, April 27th, 2017

Bose's wired QuietComfort 25 (no Bluetooth) is one of the most loved and well-reviewed noise cancellation over-ear headphones of the last few years. I don't have a pair, but I did review the QC 35, which is its more expensive wireless sister, and I came away impressed by its portability, superb comfort, excellent noise cancelation, and balanced sound profile. The QC 25 looks and feels just the same as the QC 35, but requires a wired connection to your device.
