Google Photos is fairly fresh off of its Material Theme update, but the latest version doesn't appear to have any significant changes on the surface to add to the new look. But that's not where the interesting things are on this update, we're looking into the APK to find details of what is coming in the future. The big addition will be an enhanced album that uses facial recognition to fill itself with pictures of your family and friends.

Free music seems to be making a comeback on Google Play Music. Four more ICON albums with Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Kenny Rogers, and KISS can now be picked up for $0.00 from Play Music as well.

These ICON albums are collections of these artists' greatest hits, and each has 11-12 songs.

Discogs adds in-app purchasing to its latest beta

If you're big into vinyl (records), then you probably recognize the name Discogs. If you aren't, it's a music marketplace for cataloging your collection and buying new albums. And, today, Discogs has released a beta that allows you to make purchases from inside the Android app itself. 

The full changelog for v1.17 (this latest beta) is just below.

Telegram 4.5 adds grouped photo albums, better search, and saved messages [APK Download]

Telegram continues, as usual, to get better and better. The latest version, 4.5, adds a few new, interesting features. From grouping multiple photos into albums to an improved search implementation, Telegram 4.5 is a relatively large update.

Here's the changelog:

  • Grouped Photos: Group media into albums when sharing multiple photos and videos. Choose the exact order of media you send
  • Saved Messages: Bookmark messages by forwarding them to “Saved Messages”
  • Better Search: Find bots and public channels faster by typing their titles in Search.

Update Wednesday is proving to be pretty active today as new versions of several apps are streaming out. The latest update to Photos doesn't appear to include anything we haven't heard about before, but it does seem to activate some of the features for everybody that had been on a staged rollout, like Archive and Suggested Sharing. If you haven't already received some of these features, and assuming they aren't geo-restricted, this is probably the version to get.
