Description

Strategy, speed and sharpness ... play NeuralNet today - the exciting new brain maze from Terasem!

You are an artificial intelligence charged with controlling a nanobot inside a human brain. The brain belongs to a person who has just been resuscitated after being cryonically stored for almost 50 years. You have been chosen because, ironically, the person being restored to life is the same person on whom you (the AI) were based! Their mannerisms, personality, recollections, feelings, beliefs, attitudes and values were recorded and stored with the CyBeRev project and later coupled with mindware to create your digital persona.

Your nanobot will be injected into a single neuron at the most critical junction of the brain – in the right parietal lobe – where the most important components defining self are stored. Your task is to remap the brain by following the faint traces of memory latent in the brain cells and guided by your digital data stores - going from neuron to neuron, level to level and stage to stage. Along the way, be careful to clean out any plaques that may have formed during the patient's earlier life and watch out for macrophages! Unless you use your electrified shell during such encounters, your nanobot may be destroyed and you will have to start the process over. Be aware, however, that the nanobot has a limited energy supply, so do not overtax it! Stay sharp as you navigate the maze that is a neural network and we may award you bonuses for quick work. When you have reconnected all of the key neurons in the local network, the stage will be complete and you can move on to the next challenge.

Good luck!

Daniel Bader and Russell Holly speak with Brian Mueller, founder of Carrot apps. CARROT Weather is in itself a terrific weather app, but wrapped in a hilariously snarky AI persona. He shares his experience developing for Android and his impression of the platform.

They also discuss the latest developments (pun intended) for AR/VR creation on Android. Listen carefully, meatbags!

  • Weekend poll: Are you still playing Pokémon Go?

Back in the far-off summer of 2016, Pokémon Go descended upon the world in a flurry of unstoppable nostalgia. It’s not unreasonable to say that many if not most of us spent a good chunk of that season chasing down augmented reality models of our collective childhood. But not much later, analytics for the game suggested participation might be in decline. Now, two years on, Pokémon Go fest 2018 is in full swing in Chicago, and the summer weather across the US is perfect for the outdoor game.

  • Watch all your favorite shows with the Roku Streaming Stick for $35

    Faster, better, cheaper.

The Roku Streaming Stick media streaming device normally sells between $48 and $50. It dropped to $40 a couple times back in May and earlier, but this $34.99 sale price is the lowest we have ever seen.

This is one of Roku’s newest streaming devices, a refresh of previous models. It just released in early October. Roku claims the processor in the new stick is 50% faster than last year’s model. The remote is also updated with voice control and a few extra buttons, including power and volume control.

It comes with two AAA batteries, but you might consider adding some rechargeable batteries so you can just power them back up and keep on streaming when they get low.
