Justin Bieber is a Canadian pop-R&B singer. Bieber was discovered in 2008 by Scooter Braun, who happened to come across Bieber's videos on YouTube and later became his manager. Braun arranged for him to meet with Usher in Atlanta, Georgia, and Bieber was soon signed to Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture between Braun and Usher, and then to a recording contract with Island Records offered by L.A. Reid. His debut single, "One Time", released worldwide in 2009, charted in the top 30 in over ten countries. His debut release, My World, followed on November 17, 2009, and was eventually certified platinum in the United States. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on the Billboard Hot 100. His first full studio release, My World 2.0, was released on March 23, 2010 and has since received similar success; it debuted at number one and within the top ten of several countries and was certified platinum in the United States. It was preceded by the worldwide top-ten single, "Baby," in January 2010

  • Recently revealed “Cloak & Dagger” Android attack uses overlays and accessibility services to deceive users

    maxresdefault

A new series of vulnerabilities in Android have been discovered by researchers at the University of California Santa Barbara and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Titled “Cloak & Dagger” this new class of vulnerabilities and attack vectors makes use of overlays and accessibility service permissions in Android. These services can potentially allow for a malicious application to perform unwanted actions, including collecting data input on the device and so-called “clickjacking.” The latter term being when a user might believe they are performing one action, but another is occurring beneath a deceptive overlay.

  • [Hands-on] Pokémon: Magikarp Jump, a solid spin-off that revolves around an often forgotten about Pokémon

I have to admit, Pokémon: Magikarp Jump is not what I expected when I first heard about this title. I had figured it would be a cash grab taking advantage of the Pokémon name, but in all actuality, it is an interesting casual game that just about anyone can enjoy.

The premise starts out simple enough. Mayor Karp of Hoppy Town gives you a fishing pole, which is then used to catch your first Pokémon, a Magikarp.

  • Freelancers wanted: This is your chance to join the value-obsessed Thrifter team!

If you have the gift for thrift and are passionate about finding innovative ways to save and make money, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

You’ve likely noticed the Thrifter name accompanying tech deals content published on Android Central this year, but we haven’t really paused to talk about what Thrifter is and where it’s going. To be frank, that’s because we weren’t ready to. Now we are and we’re super excited to start spreading the word as we get closer to our official launch.

While Thrifter has primarily been in the pre-alpha stage covering daily tech deals to date, our ambition and vision for Thrifter is much, much grander. Behind the scenes we’ve been building a superstar team, attracting top talent from deals and recommendation sites like The Wirecutter and 9to5Toys. Our product and brand teams have also been hustling, and we’ll soon pull the wraps off our new brand and Thrifter.com website (of course Thrifter will also live on all the social media platform…

  • Lyft introduces new Lyft Lux and Lyft Lux SUV black car service

Today Lyft has announced two new black car options for the ridesharing service. They are called, perhaps unimaginatively, Lyft Lux and Lyft Lux SUV. As the names imply, each of the services is meant to be a bit more luxurious than the standard fare. I…

  • OnePlus 3T is being discontinued to make way for the OnePlus 5

You’ll soon no longer be able to buy a OnePlus 3T, but that’s not a bad thing.

OnePlus is so, so ready to launch the OnePlus 5. The company has announced that the OnePlus 3T, its latest flagship, has reached the end of its production life, and will only be sold until current stock runs out.

A lot has happened since we launched the OnePlus 3T back in November of last year. We were thrilled by the response our device received both in the media, and by our users around the world. It’s been far and away our most successful device yet, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Rest assured that we’ll continue to bring more software updates and support to the OnePlus 3 and 3T.

This is the last call to buy the OnePlus 3T before stock runs out. Only a few devices are left in our warehouse, so purchase yours before time runs out at onepl.us/3T

This doesn’t mean the end of software or security updates for the OnePlus 3 and 3T, just that, being a small company,…

  • Instagram is hedging its bets on becoming your go-to messaging platform

The latest additions to the image sharing platform add landscape and portrait photos to Direct messages, in addition to link sharing.

If you would have told me that Instagram would be the go-to social network five years ago, I would have scoffed. But things have really evolved for the app since then, and lately it seems to be undergoing a bit of a renaissance due in part to the multitude of updates.

Today’s update brings with it landscape and portrait photos to Instagram Direct. On the surface, this is a fairly boring, yawn-worthy update, and though it will make direct messages between you and your friends a bit more dynamic, it’s not exactly meant to overhaul your Instagram experience in a meaningful way. But if you use Instagram now and already have a bustling network of friends you chat with on a daily basis, you may find you’ll use it more often, especially now that you have the knowledge of its ability to share links and one-off photos without all the noise of the perpetual fe…
