For all of its great successes in the Pixel, Google still has one critical flaw to figure out.
April 20 marked the six-month anniversary of the Google Pixel going on sale in the Play Store. As was typical for a Google phone launch, they were tough to get ahold of — backorders reached weeks or even months, depending on what model you wanted. Now, six months later, Google inexplicably still can’t keep Pixels in stock. Just head to the Play Store right now and see that most configuration combinations aren’t available.
Even the models that you can click “buy” on — like a black 32GB Pixel or silver 128GB Pixel XL — won’t ship for two to four weeks. Once again, this is a phone that has been on sale for six months and not once in the past 180+ days has the stock situation been any better. How is it that Google can get this so wrong? Part of it is expectations, but the blame mostly lies on Google’s apparent inability to control its supply chain.
When it’s tough to ge…

The Nextbit Robin was released to the general public last year, after it finished its Kitckstarter campaign at over $1.3 million. It was an interesting phone, and over the past few months, we’ve seen it drop lower and lower. Now you can get the Robin for just $136.99 – a $163 discount from its current MSRP.
If you need a refresher, the Robin has a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage with 100GB of cloud space, a 5.2″ 1080p IPS LCD, a 2,600mAh battery, and a USB Type-C port.

Here at AP, we’re quite fond of Ultimate Ears’ MEGABOOM Bluetooth speaker. In our review of it from back in 2015, we found that it was tough, sounded great, and had a nice companion app. The only major sticking point – its MSRP of $299.99 (which it still retails for, by the way) makes it pretty pricey for a Bluetooth speaker. However, Best Buy is currently selling refurbished units of the MEGABOOM for just $129.99 a pop, making it a much more enticing value.

Last year, Livestream (yes, there is a company called Livestream) released the Mevo camera, a small device designed for live broadcasting on the go. It was the first camera with integrated Facebook Live streaming, along with support for Livestream’s own service (Periscope support came later). Now the beta versions of the iOS and Android apps support streaming straight to YouTube.
While the camera can record video at 4K with the new beta, it can only broadcast video to YouTube at 1080p. It’s worth noting that the Android app for the Mevo is still in beta – you’ll need to join the G+ testing community to get it (instructions here). The finished Android app is expected sometime this summer.

Spigen Air Vent Magnetic Car Mount
Spigen makes a lot of really ingeniously designed smartphone accessories, and their Air Vent Magnetic Car Mount is as convenient as it gets. The mount itself quickly and securely clips onto an air vent on the dash.
As the name suggests, this mount secures using magnets. That will require you to attach a metal plate to the back of your phone, or better yet to your Pixel’s case. Once installed…
