Description

I remember waiting in front of the electronics store in Soviet Russia for these games to hit the shelves. I've spent countless hours in front of that store hoping to be there at the time the next batch came in... ... and now anyone with Android phone or tablet can experience one of these games in exactly the same way as countless Soviet children have in the 70s and 80s. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icenta.eggs We tried very hard to make it just like the original (that one of us still kept from the 80s) and hope you'll agree that we've created just that - the exact replica, that is as good and as entertaining as the original, for hours of fun and can't-put-it-down gameplay that borders addiction.

  • YouTube now redirects searches for extremist videos to curated anti-terrorism playlists

The Redirect Method is a new active stance against online extremism.

Starting today, YouTube will return results for curated anti-terrorist playlists when someone searches for hateful content. The details, from Tubefilter:

The new feature, dubbed The Redirect Method, is part of a four-prong strategy announced by Google last month to quash extremist ideologies across its platforms. The Redirect Method was developed by Jigsaw — an Alphabet subsidiary whose mission is to counter extremism, censorship, and cyber attacks — alongside another tech company called Moonshot CVE (which stands for “Countering Violent Extremism”).

Jigsaw and Moonshot CVE developed the tech after studying, over several years, how terrorist factions like ISIS leverage technology to spread their messaging and recruit new followers. In coming weeks, YouTube says it intends to incorporate The Redirect Method into a wider set of search queries in languages beyond English, use machine learning to dynamically…

  • [Enable Awesome Duck mode] Someone turned on a hilarious secret debug menu on the Google Store

While there’s normally nothing interesting at all about something as mundane as a debug menu, when we noticed the contents of one that it appears someone accidentally pushed live on the Google Store, we had to share. The Smith Debug Modal doesn’t real…

  • Google creates coffee making sim to test VR learning

  • Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy Note8 on August 23rd in NYC

Last year’s Galaxy Note7 was a bit of a train wreck for Samsung; it was a fantastic phone… aside from the fact that it had a tendency to catch fire. Samsung is hoping to move on from that with the Galaxy Note8, a phone that we’ve already seen leaked…
